The German Autobahn is a nationwide network of motorways connecting every major German cities with eachother. The German Autobahns covers a length of about 12 000 kilometers and many parts lack speed limits. The recommended maximum speed however is 130 km/h. About 40 % of the network have speedlimits reaching between 60 to 120 km/h. At construction sites the speed limits can be as low as 30 km/h to protect the workers and drivers as the lanes are narrower.
